Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a complimentary and holistic medicine which uses specially prepared, highly diluted substances (given mainly in tablet form) with the aim of triggering the body’s own healing mechanisms.

Information on Homeopathy

Homeopathy treatment is seen by many clients as a natural and effective way to treat their health problems. In the UK it would be considered as a complementary or alternative medicine as it is different to conventional Western medicine. It is available in many pharmacies and qualified homeopaths are practising in clinics across the UK.

Homeopathic medicines (which homeopaths call remedies) are made from plant, chemical, mineral or animal sources, and are prepared by specialist pharmacists using a careful process of dilution and succussion (a specific form of vigorous shaking).

For the latest research on the practice of  Homeopathy, do take a look at The National Centre for Complimentary  and Integrative Health’s  website.

What happens in homeopathy session ?

Julie says : During your initial consultation which will last between 60-90 minutes you will be asked about your current difficulties and how your symptoms are affecting you. I will ask you about your past medical history and ask questions to help me to understand you as an individual. Everything that we discuss will be confidential.’

Based on this, Julie will decide on the course of treatment, which often takes the form of homeopathic remedies given as a pill, capsule or tincture (solution).

Julie may recommend that you attend one or more follow-up appointments so the remedy’s effects on your health can be assessed.

Julie will prescribe medicines according to your specific set of symptoms, and how they experience them, taking into account your  overall level of health.

‘I will select a suitable remedy or remedies for you which will treat your physical symptoms and your mental and emotional responses too’.

Whilst homeopathic remedies are generally considered as safe to take your Homeopath will ask that you bring a list of any drugs prescribed by your doctor and any supplements you are taking so that this can be considered. At the Feel Well Centre we advise that your should always tell your GP if you are thinking about Homeopathy treatment and should not stop taking any prescribed medication.
